La Jolla Program

LA JOLLA PROGRAM UK
A project of the Center for Studies of the Person,
La Jolla, California, USA.
PERSON-CENTRED SELF DISCOVERY AND PERSONAL GROWTH
27th SEPTEMBER – 3rd OCTOBER 2009
NORWICH, NORFOLK.

The Center for Studies of the Person was founded by Carl Rogers and his colleagues in the 1970s. Rogers was personally involved in the development and establishment of the La Jolla Program. The Program provides an opportunity to explore personal and professional relationships in a person-centred community. It is an interactive experience, an opportunity to listen and be listened to and develop new levels of communication. Rogers believed that the intensive group experience was a profoundly significant vehicle, which could lead to deep and significant changes in persons, institutions, racial and international tensions and in the values and philosophies of mankind.

The facilitators will be Will Stillwell and Keddie Burrows. Will, who was a colleague of Carl Rogers, works in organisations as coach to individuals, facilitator to groups and mediator in conflict situations. He has served on the faculty of several American universities. Keddie works as a psychological specialist to developmentally disabled people for whom the regular health system has not worked well. She has a long professional history to back up her unique gift of being herself with others.

The venue will be at the University of East Anglia. Numbers will be limited to a maximum of 24 participants, so early booking is advisable.
